Useful Information

Zimbabwe's largest National Park, Hwange National Park lies just 100km's South of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World - Victoria Falls.

Its sheer size means that its scenery, vegetation and game varies hugely, ranging from Kalahari sands in the south, to beautiful forests, granite hills and valleys of mopane woodlands in the north.

Elephants are the stars of the show and can be seen by their hundreds during the dry season. The Park is also home to over 100 mammal species and more than 470 bird species.

Easily accessible from Victoria Falls, by air, road transfer or self drive.

Monthly features

Dry Season (June to October) is the prime time for a safari in Hwange National Park. Skies are clear, no rain and waterholes become gathering places for an abundance of animals.

Shoulder season (April, May & November)
Nice balance between the seasons. Animals are still in abundance. Daytime temperatures are pleasant. All roads are still accessible and lodges often have better seasonal pricing.

Green Season (January to March & December) is a birders and photographers paradise. Lush green landscapes, clear skies and new born animals are dropped. Less visitors meaning a more exclusive safari experience. Roads can however become technical and the bush density can become a challenge for game viewing. Best prices available during this time.
